What occurs during photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is the process light energy to chemical energy and storing sugar. This process occurs in plants and some algae Plants need light energy, CO2, and H2O to make sugar. The process of photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts, chlorophyll. |

Summerize the First Law of Thermodynamics
the First Law of Thermodynamics The increase in the internal energy of a system is equal to the amount of energy added by heating the system, minus the amount lost as a result of the work done by the system on its surroundings. |

Good job guys. The 1st Law of Thermodynamics as explained in your book states that energy can be converted from one form to another (from a plant to an animal in the form of food, for example), but cannot be created or destroyed.
Anyone else? Last edited by smorton on Tue Nov 06, 2007 7:50 am; edited 1 time in total |

6) Explain how ATP stores and releases energy.
ATP releases energy when the bond between the second and third phosphate groups is broken, forming a molecule called adenosine diphosphate. Energy is stored in the phosphate bond formed when ADP recieves a phospate group and becomes ATP. |

ATP is so important because it transports chemical energy within cells for metabolism it's also produced as an energy source during the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration and consumed by many enzymes.
much love, kenney |
