Why are manhole covers round Question

manhole covers are round Because round is the only shape that can not fall through a similarly shaped, slightly smaller hole regardless of how it is tilted.

wait isnt a manhole a place where soldiers dive in for cover is this a question like if a rooster laid an egg on a roof which way would it fall? Ive never heard of manhole covers anyways.

Manhole covers are holes you dig out in the military to take cover in during and under combat.
